The Feeling of Swing............Swing Engages!

It makes the mind/motion quality of Swing to:

  • Bounce a basketball
  • Dance or play a hula, or "Swing"
  • Play cards
  • Write like Chaucer
  • Paint like Monet
  • Swing a bat like Babe Ruth
  • Jump

You have seen it when you watched:

  • A group swaying together as they sing
  • A dog wagging its tail
  • A child on a swing
It interacts and feels, using comparison to weigh things like loyalty and disloyalty. It utilizes images to hold meaning like dreams do, and it dreams our dreams with the Swing eye movement of REM. You observe it in the creatures and humans of Gulliver's Travels, and the rolling wave of a crowd cheering on their team, and the cadence and tales of Chaucer.

Group oriented, practical, nurturing and playful, Swing is experienced at the Hawaiian luaus, with their aloha lei, their including hulas, their interactive preparations and eating, their ukuleles and by their fun and joking.

Swings ability to fantasize, embellish and play with light can be seen in the paintings and brush stroke of Gauguin and the Impressionist, as well as in the work of many of the best lighting designers.

Swing works with all the parts interacting with each other in an antipodean balance like a paisley or Hawaiian print. Very organic, it’s practicality wants to know “how”, and can ebb and flow between two or more things at the same time, playfully getting off task while keeping the options open until the deal is done.

In leadership this is the Collaborator pattern.
